Dental Implants can help save your oral health and appearance in a few different ways.
- Immediate placement after tooth loss can save supporting bone, adjacent teeth, and your great-looking smile.
- Implants can be an attractive alternative to a denture or bridge.
- An implant-supported bridge can be used when more than one tooth is missing to provide greater stability and save underlying bone.
- An implant-supported denture can solve the problems of eating, speaking, and socializing associated with wobbly fitting dentures and permanently removes the need for adhesives.
Before we can give you dental implants, we must first ensure you’re a good candidate for them. After a consultation with Dr. Green, if you’re a good candidate
we will start preparing for your procedure. Good candidates need to have sufficient jaw bone and also be free of gum disease. If necessary, we can provide gum disease treatment and a bone graft to help patients qualify for dental implants. However, if we find that you’re not a good candidate for dental implants, we will recommend an alternative procedure to replace your missing teeth including dental bridges or FOY® Dentures
At StarImage Dentistry we use a unique procedure for dental implantsーCT Guided Dental Implants. CT-guided dental implants involve utilizing iCAT Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scans to guide us during your implant procedure.
iCat CBCT scans are fast, detailed, cheaper than hospital CT scans, and take place in an open environment to prevent claustrophobia. Taking these scans prior to your dental implant surgery allows us to complete more comprehensive treatment planning and expedite your overall procedure time. In addition, it allows us to provide you with precise results and minimize complications and reduce the risk of implant failure. The CBCT scan also prevents the need for exploratory surgery which will save you time, money, and discomfort.
After we take the CBCT scan, we are able to customize your procedure. The scan gives us a look at your jawbone and the exact locations of your teeth. We will know if you will require a bone graft to accommodate the dental implants or if a neighboring tooth has roots that will interfere during the procedure.
During the actual placement process, we will follow the guide we created based on the information we learned from the CBCT scan. The procedure involves applying a local anesthetic to the implant placement site to numb the area. We will surgically insert the post which resembles a small screw. After placement, you will wear temporary replacement teeth for several months until your jaw heals. Once it’s fully healed, we will take impressions and create your permanent restorations. Then we will attach them to your dental implants.
One unique aspect of our dental implant procedure here at StarImage Dentistry is the option for Teeth-in-Day. If you need to have a tooth extracted, we can place the dental implant on the exact day of the extraction. That way, you don’t have to go a single day without a tooth
. This option reduces the need for a bone graft and shortens the entire treatment time. It’s also a lower cost than traditional dental implant procedures. Before you have a tooth extracted, set up a plan with StarImage Dentistry so you never have to go without teeth.
When you opt for dental implants to replace your missing teeth, you can look forward to a long-life of amazing benefits and you should absolutely consider them. For starters, dental implants will help prevent you from experiencing the early signs of aging. This is a direct result of the dental implant’s preventing bone resorption.
You can also look forward to a life of eating, speaking, and smiling comfortably and without the stress that your replacement teeth will fall out. Don’t let your teeth stay missing. If you need an extraction, have missing teeth, or feel unhappy with your current replacement option, our Wichita Falls implant dentists can help transform your oral health and your quality of life. You can feel confident in your smile once again.
We are committed to helping you prevent tooth loss, but when the need arises, we will be happy to discuss whether implants are a suitable option for you. Not only can they save your looks – they look and feel natural too! As long as you take good care of your dental implants, you can look forward to spending a lifetime with them.
